COHESION attends Censis IoT Workshop

Censis 1

Yesterday, Zoe, one of our Product Design Engineers and Andy, our Chief Data and Regulatory Officer, attended a IoT (Internet of Things) workshop organised by Censis. Censis is the industry-led Innovation Centre for the economically important and highly diverse domain of Sensor and Imaging Systems (SIS) technologies and their applications.

The workshop was in the Inovo Building at the University of Strathclyde, which is an amazing new hub for innovation in Scotland. The Inovo Building and the Technology and Innovation Centre was created in collaboration with Scottish Enterprise and the University of Strathclyde to encourage academia and industry to work together. This would be in areas such as research, development, design and engineering of energy, low carbon and associated enabling technologies.

The workshop focused on 'How to connect an STM32 development platform through a LoRa™ network to the Microsoft Azure cloud' which involved very relevant points and information that COHESION should be aware of going forward. IoT is an area that now holds a vital place in the future world of technology and therefore it is important to fully comprehend the concept of IoT, its benefits and the challenges that it will cause when developing solutions.

As COHESION is an innovative company operating in the field of technology and software, IoT is an integral part to current research and future developments. Zoe, who specialises in User Experience Design said:

"The workshop was very informative and highlighted how fast things are changing. This is important for COHESION to understand and I am excited about where these developments in the industry could take us".

Censis is planning on arranging more workshops of this type in the future and COHESION will be very keen to attend. It is great to see how the industry is evolving which makes this an exciting time for COHESION.
